Our Tar & Chip Installation Process
At Wilson Paving, we follow a proven installation process to ensure long-lasting results and proper surface performance.
Step 1:
Site Preparation
We begin by grading and leveling the area to establish a stable base and promote proper drainage. Proper preparation is critical to the long-term success of any paving project.
Step 2:
First Application
Using specialized paving equipment, we apply heated chip oil (CRS-2) to the prepared surface. A layer of quality chip stone is then spread evenly across the area.
Step 3:
Compaction
Heavy-duty rollers are used to press the stone into the heated oil, creating a strong bond and durable surface.
Step 4:
Second Application & Final Compaction
To maximize durability and longevity, we repeat the application and compaction process. This additional layer helps create a stronger finished surface that stands up to daily traffic and changing weather conditions.
